This Calls for a Celebration

As we welcome the month of May, I can't help but focus my energy on "Moms!"

Where would we be without us?

Mother's Day is this Sunday and for years, I've tried not to make a SUPER big deal about the day. Similar to Valentine's Day, I'm more concerned with being celebrated everyday, not just one day a year. Especially now that every day is coined a "special" day. For example, yesterday was National Siblings Day. Who comes up with this stuff?

For me, mums :) yes, mums and dads should be celebrated as often as possible. Sure, get the flowers, take us out to brunch or dinner but never forget that each day calls for celebration. The mums that I know tackle a lot! Laundry, relationships, meal planning, nurturing, running a household, cleaning noses, wiping butts, changing diapers, dry cleaning, house cleaning (although you should ALWAYS outsource housecleaning), walking the dog, doctor's appointments and the list goes on and on.

All of the tasks that we are responsible for and there's only ONE day that calls out our awesomeness?!? Here's the deal, make sure that you (the mum), take time to celebrate yourself as often as you feel necessary.

It doesn't have to be fancy or over-the-top. It can be as simple as buying a new shade of lipstick. I'm on a champagne campaign. Champagne is my drink of choice, even at home. Champagne reminds me to celebrate being alive. There's nothing that I love more than to sip my favorite champagne from my Waterford Crystal flutes. I do it as often as possible (insert all weekend).

Besides champagne, I've added a new form of celebration for myself and that is going to the farmers market on Sunday (alone) and picking my favorite, fresh fruits and veggies and the biggest bouquet of flowers that I can find.

My logic is, I want beautiful flowers while I'm alive, it would suck to wait until I was no longer in this realm to have beautiful flowers all around.

What do you say? You call for a celebration! It's time to take a little time to celebrate you, each day. Life is a gift. The fact that you have a beautiful family, your health and the gift of life...celebrate, no matter what!

Gee, sometimes it sounds like I'm always saying the same thing over and over again, but I live for this message folks! I want the same for you.

How will you make everyday mum's day? Tell me in the comments below.

Cheers!

Until next time, Happy Mother's Day! xoxo
