I just listened to a podcast that really got me thinking. The host made a statement about why it is important to be, who you are and not hide facets of yourself. She said that each of us is like a sweet perfume. Wow!
Have you ever stop to consider this?
How many times have you gone to a moms' group or attended a staff meeting and didn't show up as your authentic self? I mean, flaws and all. Maybe you were trying to be something that you're not, like the perfect mom or spouse, to impress the other moms. At work, do you pretend to have it all together, when your are crumbling on the inside?
Back to the sweet perfume part. Rachel, the host, explained that the sweet perfume (our authentic self) will attract some and turn off a few...that is perfectly fine. We weren't created to please everyone. We also aren't built to hold back on, who we really are. Now, it is important to note that if you are mean person or a habitual gossiper, then that's not the real you. That is a wall of fear that you put up to protect you from something. Do your best to get to the bottom of this illness. Your natural state is happiness. People, who are mean to other people are not happy. Just sayin'.
Let your sweet fragrance come through. Life is a lot more pleasant when you take the walls down. I encourage you to carry a light load. Parenting is challenging enough, who has the time to pretend to be someone other than, who you really are? I say, free yourself. Remember, your fragrance will attract some and repel a few, that's OK. Life is too good to be anything but, who you truly are and who you truly are is like a sweet perfume. Besos!
